Happy Friday Volume 4 || February 16

It’s been a long but good week. Happy Friday, everyone! I’m back again with my favorite weekly post on the blog where I share the things I’ve been doing, loving, and reading this week. I’ve had two exams this week, done some fun things, and mostly tried to maintain a good balance. Be sure to let me know how your week went down below!

one || Monday’s adventures

Monday was my first social psychology exam. I studied for most of the day on Sunday. Monday morning, my friend Taylor and I got up early and headed to Dunkin’ for a little breakfast, coffee, and study date. I want to make this a tradition-it was so much fun and I went into the exam (and my day) feeling so happy and prepared. The exam went really well, and it was a really amazing start to the morning. Have you tried doing something fun before an exam? Bonus points if it doubles as a chance to review with a friend!

two || Valentine’s Day

To be honest, I didn’t think my Valentine’s Day would be anything special this year. Most of my friends had plans, I’m not at home so celebrating with my family was out, and I just wanted to relax and watch something. However, my parent surprised me with the sweetest little bouquet of carnations and a chocolate bar, delivered right to my room. What a sweet surprise!

Then, knowing I’ve been a little homesick lately, my parents surprised me by picking me up and taking me to dinner with them. It was so, so much fun, and I am beyond grateful for them and the things they do for me.

When I came back, my friend Melanie had left me a little Valentine’s surprise, which was so sweet. I ended the night studying for my Western Civ midterm, but it was such a nice, unexpectedly good day.

three || Other Adventures

My sister Lindsay came to visit me on Thursday, which was so nice! We had dinner at my favorite Italian restaurant (I’m a creature of habit-have you noticed?) and then came back and watched Riverdale together. It’s always so nice having her visit. We have so much fun and it’s great getting to just spend time being together!

four || TV

I started watching Big Little Lies on HBO and while it’s pretty dark, I really love it. The actresses-Shailene Woodley, Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman-and their characters are so dynamic, complex, and yet have layers of relatable issues and joys. The show is one of those things where you might not completely understand what’s going on all the time, but you’re so drawn in and engaged with the story that it becomes addictive. If you haven’t watched it, I really recommend it-but prepare for some dark, graphic content at times.

five || blog posts I’ve been loving

Asha wrote the most creative post about self-care lessons from the shower. Trust me and go read it-so adorable! (here)

Sarah shared the best tips for becoming a morning person in college, and I will definitely be trying some of them out!  (here)

On the blog this week, you might’ve missed my 10 Facts About Me post. You can read that here.

This macaroni and cheese recipe with some elegant twists from  A Cozy Kitchen looks so delicious! Plus, I’ve been loving her blog in general–the recipes, the book club posts, and of course, her corgi! (here)

Are you in need of some fresh, healthy breakfast ideas? Kate from Layered Indulgence shared two easy ways to spice up toast and make it much more dynamic and delicious! (here) Also on her blog this week, I loved her post about being productive on Sunday and setting yourself up for an easier week.

I hope you have had an amazing, stress-free week, and that your weekend is relaxing and fun!
