Happy Sunday! The past week has been long and difficult. Finals week starts tomorrow, and I’m a little nervous. I’m doing my best to stay grounded and calm, since being stressed is only going to make things worse! As we approach the holidays, I have realized how lovely it is to both give and receive gifts that give back. I wanted to do a post since many people don’t know about these brands, and I plan on purchasing lots of gifts from these brands because they are high quality! It is possible to spread joy, love, and gifts to more than just one person by selecting the right gifts.
Love Your Melon
Love Your Melon is a company that gives back in every way. Started by two college students, the mission of the brand is to provide every child who has cancer with a hat, and to simultaneously support dozens of nonprofit partners. These partners work in research, care, and support of pediatric oncology patients, in the fight to beat childhood cancer.
My mom bought me one of the Pom Beanies this year and I have been wearing it almost every night this December. They are super cozy, ridiculously high quality, and I feel great knowing the cause that the beanie supports.
This brand also sells apparel which I have my eye on! With high quality hats in every color and style imaginable, this is the perfect gift that gives back.
Adorable tee-shirts, high quality accessories, and great causes combine on this cute website and brand. Ivory Ella donates a portion of all proceeds to saving the elephants, and additionally, has charity collections that change and support various causes. They also have partnered up with Alex and Ani to do an exclusive collection to support pediatric cancer research.
Alex and Ani
One of my absolute favorite brands is Alex and Ani. Their bracelets, rings, and other accessories are so high quality, beautiful, and just overall perfect. What makes this brand even better? They have so many collections of jewelry that partner with different charities and causes, varying from Special Olympics to UNICEF to the ASPCA. No matter what cause you are passionate about, they have a piece of gorgeous jewelry to support the cause.
Their most recent charity collection to launch features three celebrities and supports a rare, debilitating genetic skin disorder called epidermolysis bullosa.
Starfish Project is an organization with a mission of restoring hope to exploited women and children. They provide healthcare, counseling, shelter, and education to women and children escaping human trafficking in Asia. They sell beautiful jewelry and I have quite a few pieces on my wishlist, including their bar necklaces-especially this one!- and their stone necklaces and bracelets, especially this necklace and this bracelet!
One of the coolest parts about this website is that on each product, they explain what the cost of the product will provide for these women and children in need. Purchasing gifts that give back this holiday season (or year round!) makes such a difference.
Towels, blankets, shirts and apparel, glasses and cups, and more. This brand carries so many amazingly designed, very quality products with a mission: support marine life and ocean preservation. 10% of all profits are donated to marine life partners. Their brand has taken off on Instagram, and for good reason! As someone who loves the beach infinitely, I adore the mission of this brand. I personally have purchased the glass water bottles and necklaces in the past, and I was thrilled with them overall.

The Giving Keys
The story behind The Giving Keys is amazing, and their message is even more amazing: to provide jobs and support to those transitioning out of homelessness. Beautiful, hand-engraved keys have inspiring messages and provide thousands of jobs to those in need. I absolutely adore this brand and the way they give back!
The company creates necklaces, bracelets, earrings, and more, and each key is engraved with a word or message that aims to inspire the receiver, and then be passed on to someone else who needs the message.
Lokai is one of the more popular brands, with a mission of giving back by donating portions of proceeds from their sales to various non-profit organizations. Their bracelets have a black bead, which contains mud from the Dead Sea-the lowest point on earth, as well as a white bead that contains water from the top of Mount Everest, the highest point on earth. The message: be humble while you’re on top, and to have hope when you hit a low point.
This year, Lokai’s biggest contributions include limited-edition bracelet sales to donate to the Alzheimer’s Association, Make-A-Wish, Oceana, charity:water, the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, and RED.
Kiehl’s is well-known for its skincare products. However, this Christmas, Kiehl’s has partnered with Disney and Feeding America to create gift sets that give back. The Disney x Kiehl’s collection helps provide meals to those in need with every purchase.
Other perks? The packaging is Disney-themed and adorable, and the products are limited-edition, high quality, and include bestsellers.
Aside from being the most amazing store ever, Lush has two constant products that donate heavily to charitable organizations. Charity Pot, a body moisturizer and lotion, supports a number of direct-action charitable causes.
Additionally, Lush created a soap called FUN that is moldable and multi-purpose. 2.5% of the sales of each bar of FUN soap go towards the charitable FunD. The FunD provides support to grassroots charities aiming to create safe places to play for children in Japan following nuclear contamination.
Clothing can be more than just a fashion statement. The creator of Elegantees, Katie Martinez, realized the power of a fashion brand and partnered with an organization, and now, Elegantees aims to help rescue and employ the victims of human trafficking in Nepal and India.
Human life and dignity is important to preserve, and victims of human trafficking need our help. Buying the adorable and high quality, individualized pieces of clothing from this brand can help out countless victims!
This brand makes me so happy, because the work they are doing is so important. Hand-in-Hand Soap’s premise is simple: selling high quality, lovely soaps with a buy a bar, give a bar program. The mission? Provide soap and clean water to children in developing countries. Millions of children die each year in developing countries due to water issues, many of which could be prevented with proper hand washing. They partnered with child advocacy group My Neighbor’s Children, and 100% of the donations we receive go to the children of Haiti. Bonus: they not only sell gorgeous bar soaps, but body scrubs, lotions, and more!
I hope that this post gave you some ideas for gifts that give back. I will definitely be wishing for as well as giving these as gifts this year! Christmas is a time to give back to others. Purchasing high quality gifts from companies with heart is a good place to start.
